Pokemon Cafe ReMix is out now for Nintendo Switch and Android/iOS mobile platforms! This is a remade version of the puzzle game that launched last year, and it’s much improved. This guide is a Work In Progress as Pokemon Cafe ReMix just came out, but feel free to ask questions and add tips in the Comments! I will expand on the guide as I play and have time.
See my other Pokemon Guides if you need more games to play! We also have a Discord Server, come say hi in the Mobile Games channel.
Pokemon Cafe ReMix Gameplay Tips
Which Pokemon?
Generally you’ll almost always want to use the suggested Pokemon on the Order menu. It will suggest 2 Pokemon will Gimmicks/skills that are helpful, and usually the left one is best to use.
You can still press Set Leader to pick a different Pokemon, make sure their Specialty matches. Generally, you only need to do this if a difficult Gimmick is involved but isn’t covered by the suggestions.
Early on, Eevee will be your workhorse (fox), easily handling most beginner levels. It’s Gimmicks are extremely common and it will save you many turns, so level up Eevee early (this helps you get Mew early anyway).
Training
You get a measly 10 XP for clearing a normal order, and Experience Tarts that give direct XP are rare rewards. This means that for the most part to level up your Pokemon, you’ll need to use the Training from the Pokemon menu.
Fortunately, training gets you to level 10 very fast and your top priority should be getting all your pokemon to level 5 (then 10) as soon as possible. This will only take a few training sessions. After order 100 and 200, you’ll be able to spend 2 and then 3 stamina at once to speed up training.
PokeTwo is a Discord Pokemon game bot designed to be just like the original Pokecord (RIP). It’s the closest to Pokecord I’ve found so far, while MewBot and PokeMeow (which I also have guides for) are more their own thing. If you know how to play Pokecord you’re pretty much already good to go with PokeTwo, but I’ll note everything here for new or confused players!
I do not own PokeTwo and the SirTapTap Discord Server is a CHAT SERVER, it does not have PokeTwo!
This is a guide written by Sir TapTap. Donations to Poketwo do not go to me, so if my guides help, consider supporting my Patreon or become a paid member of my YouTube channel.
You can support me and my guides monthly on Patreon (and score some rewards like cute cat pictures)! The more I earn the more time I can spend on improving guides like this. My PayPal is a thing too if you can’t do monthly subscriptions.
2022-09-30: Prefixes are gone, presumably they’re transitioning PokeTWo to Slash Commands, but for now all commands are run by @ mentioning the bot then your command. Kind of a pain. I’ll update the guide when slash commands are in.
2022-05-31: Added how to ‘uninstall’ the bot by kicking it. Please stop joining the SirTapTap discord, we do not have the bot and provide 0 support or assistance for it.
2022-04-15: The bot is down/broken, seemingly unplanned. It will be back up eventually probably. Again I’m not a developer, so I can’t help you with it. It will be online when it is.
2021-4-02: Fun’s over, PokeTwo’s april fools graphics are gone.
2021-03-31: April Fools day content is live. All pokemon art in spawns is replaced with poor hand drawings. This is cosmetic only and will probably end April 2nd. Spawns (but no other pictures) will have funny poorly drawn images, and you may get a fake shiny message.
PokeTwo’s spawn rates seem drastically lowered after it was offline for a week.
2021-03-30: Added some new commands that were added to the bot since the last update
2021-03-12: Yes, PokeTwo is offline. This is very common for Pokemon discord bots and there is nothing you should or can do about it but wait.
2021-03-05: Tidying up of the guide. Common questions: Use p!pokedex to learn specific pokemon’s evolution requirements. Use p!time to find the time for timed evolutions/pokemon.
2020-09-11: Battles were updated! They still appear to be broken but…now they’re updated.
2020-09-04: Added more information on the (terrible) p!battle command. tl;dr: ignore the DM just use the commands in the channel
2020-08-26: PokeTwo has a p!Market feature now! It’s caught up 100% with Pokecord now more or less. Added more explicit info about how Pokemon spawn in Pokecord (stop spamming! It doesn’t work!) Also added info on p!shinyhunt
2020-08-05: PokeTwo Guide released. Guide should have all commands in the current release of Poketwo.
Do not ask about poketwo in my discord server, you will be banned.
How Pokemon Spawn in PokeTwo
Please actually read this section as a massive amount of people seem to misunderstand the fundamental concept of this bot!
If you played Pokecord, you’re basically up to speed already. In PokeTwo, every time someone posts a regular chat message there is a chance of a Pokemon spawning in response. This means no chatting, no pokemon, ever! There are also anti-spam features that limit how often one person can spawn a pokemon: one person spamming over and over still won’t spawn Pokemon. The best way to spawn pokemon is (shock and horror) a lot of people having a real conversation and talking back and forth! Yes, that’s what PokeCord was originally designed to encourage!
Only real, generally back-and-forth chatting generates Pokemon! Spamming the chat with repeated lines from one person will not reliably generate pokemon, nor is there a ;spawn command or anything of the sort! Most people forget, but Pokecord was designed to encourage chatting on a Discord server. If you’re sitting silently waiting for Pokemon you are playing Pokecord clones wrong. Say hi in a general chat channel and make a dialog to get Pokemon spawning.
The one exception is if you buy incense, which spawns a pokemon every 20 seconds for an hour.
If you just want to force Pokemon to appear, you want to play PokeMeow or Myuu instead. There is to my knowledge no bot that just constantly spawns pokemon with 0 input like some people seem to want. Also note PokeTwo’s spawn rate seems to have been massively nerfed.
PokeRealm is a Discord Pokemon game bot designed to be just like the original Pokecord, just like PokeTwo. If you’re hunting for Pokemon discord bots, also check out MewBot and PokeMeow (which I also have guides for) are more their own thing.
If you know how to play Pokecord you’re pretty much already good to go with PokéRealm, but I’ll note everything here for new or confused players! I read all my comments so if you have anything to add or ask, leave a comment.
You can support me and my guides monthly on Patreon (and score some rewards like cute cat pictures)! The more I earn the more time I can spend on improving guides like this. My PayPal is a thing too if you can’t do monthly subscriptions.
2021-02-23: PokeRealm is back!
2020-08-21: PokéRealm guide released.
PokéRealm Basics
If you played Pokecord, you’re basically up to speed already. PokéRealmis a very direct clone of Pokecord down to the commands, functions, even moreso than MewBot. People chat, Pokemon spawn, you guess their name, you catch them if you’re the first in the channel to do so.
Note PokéRealm is a bit laggier than Pokecord (Discord rate limits surely).
Editor’s Note: Currently working on fixing syntax for Slash Commands in the guide!
PokeMeow is a new(ish) Discord Pokemon game bot, like the legendary Pokecord (RIP) and the neat but ever-buggy MewBot. Many Pokemon Fans are looking for new Discord bots to play Pokemon stuff, and it seems PokeMeow is one of the most popular options. These games are always a little confusing to start with, so I thought I’d make a guide just like those other two bots!
Feel free to share information, strategies, tips, or ask questions in the comments! PokeMeow is pretty complicated so I’ve gone in depth on as many features as I can to help you use it most effectively.
You can support me and my guides monthly on Patreon (and score some rewards like cute cat pictures)! The more I earn the more time I can spend on improving guides like this. My PayPal is a thing too if you can’t do monthly subscriptions.
2022-09-16: For better or worse, Slash Commands here here! Most commands are the exact same just starting with /, but I’ll be revising the guide soon.
2021-03-04: Fishing sucks less! Rarer Pokemon will give more than 1 fishing token, making the grind much less awful.
2020-11-10: the /battle command is out! Adding info on it to the guide.
2020-10-02: Happy October! Added explanation of Shop items to the Economy section
2020-09-30: Some tidying up here and there, market commands, catch rates (thanks to the help server!).
2020-09-21: Added more missing commands, almost everything in the game should be here now! Just missing a couple minor ones like /code and /patreon I’ll add later
2020-09-14: Fishing was added to the game! Check the Fishing section.
2020-09-08: Added Battle/Buddy sections. Looks like all Generation 6 Pokemon were added to Pokemeow recently.
2020-09-07: Added info on the hidden Golden Eevee event
2020-08-25: Added info about swap feature, eggs, release
2020-08-21: Added much more information about daily and some commands.
2020-08-19: Added the missing /quest and /event commands! An incomplete Catchbot Upgrade Stats table was added.
2020-07-30: Guide published! Note according to the official Discord server, the rate limits were greatly improved on PokeMeow and Pokemon can now spawn much faster.

PokeMeow Quickstart Guide
You can also either add PokeMeow to your own server, or join the PokeMeow official server. The official server is very active (for better and worse) and has some FAQ channels with info on PokeMeow as well as official announcements. Adding it to your own server, or joining a smaller server with the bot already in it, can be a quieter way to enjoy PokeMeow without the usual Big Discord Server Woes.
Once you’re in a server/channel that runs PokeMeow, type /pokemon to start playing. Your progress is saved across servers, it’s all tied to your discord account. Type /help for the basic ingame help.
Use /checklist often to check the daily tasks that will help you get free items like Pokeballs.
Unlike PokeCord you don’t talk and wait for spawns; spawns are forced with the /pokemon command. But it’s not quite as free as it sounds, since you instead need to use Pokeballs to catch pokemon. You can get more balls by buying them and/or by voting to get lootboxes which contain credits and Pokeballs.
A mistake I see new players make is ignoring almost all of their spawns, presumably trying to save up Pokeballs. Make sure to take your /quest, /hunt, and open your /lootboxes from /votes, and you’ll have plenty of Pokeballs. You’re actually missing out on the primary source of income if you don’t catch every pokemon you encounter.
Pokemon is a well-loved and super popular series, and players are always looking for more information and more to do in the franchise. With this short list of the best Pokemon bots for Discord, you and your server members can play Pokemon games right from your Discord app or tab, or quickly look up information without having to open Bulbapedia!
Update: Well, Pokecord shut down. Obviously, that reduces it’s status as a best discord bot. Several alternatives have been added for people who want a similar experience.
Update 2: I now have a video review of Pokecord alternatives!
Let me know about other great Pokemon Discord bots in the comments! There’s a whole bunch, so this isn’t meant to be exhaustive, just the easiest and most effective bots to toss on your server and immediately have a good time.
Best Gameplay Pokemon Discord Bots & Pokecord alternatives
Pokecord
WAS active in >1.3 Million discord servers!
Well, Pokecord shut down so you can’t play it anymore. I’ll leave it here for reference.
I’m sure you’ve heard of Pokecordso I won’t spend too much time talking about it. It’s the most popular bot that lets Pokemon spawn in your Discord server and lets players catch them, trade them, and grow them up. It features Shinies, IVs, and a limited battle system.
If you just want to sit back in Discord, chat, and catch Pokemon low-effort, Pokecord has you covered.
Upsides
Most popular bot, many of your server members may already play
Decent support for things like Shinies, battles, a Pokedex
Catch Pokemon in several different languages, without changing the bot’s base language
Increase your Pokespelling skills by racing your friends to catch that Elgyem or whatever it’s called
Give Pokemon nicknames full of emoji to torture your friends
Helpful to boost engagement in your server by rewarding chatting & reading
Downsides
Very behind on features compared to Mewbot and other more battle-focused Discord bots
Status moves, breeding, multi-pokemon fights, minigames are all absent
Special evolutions are annoying, requiring things like a dedicated channel named “#day” to evolve daytime only evolutions
Requires a moderate degree of setup if you don’t want it to spam your channels
I highly recommend making an exclusive channel for any of these game bots
Commands aren’t well documented; see my Pokecord Guide for help
Economy is wonky and basically requires constantly voting for the bot on the Discord Bots list
Pokemon spawn rate is heavily biased against legendaries, starters, and some other Pokemon
On top of that, certain Pokemon appear far more than other common, non-legendary/starter pokemon
Mewbot
Active in >60,000 servers.
Mewbot is Pokecord’s less popular (but still alive) cousin. It works largely the same, just having a lot more features and some minor differences here and there. It unfortunately has more than its fair share of bugs and save wipe issues.
Update 2021-06-21: After various updates, I don’t particularly recommend Mewbot. PokeMeow and PokeTwo are the pretty clear winners in 2021. Myuu if you want a much more traditional pokemon game.
Upsides
Basically does everything Pokecord does
Battles are much more in-depth than Pokecord with functional status moves
Pokemon spawns are more evenly distributed than Pokecord, meaning less duplicates and more excitement
Relevant minigames like game corner and fishing
Fishing gives evolution/etc items for free
Economy is a bit less bad than Pokecord
Downsides
Far more buggy than Pokecord, has had two “everyone lost all/most pokemon” database incidents now.
More complicated than Pokecord
Nags for upvotes just like Pokecord
Not as popular as Pokecord
Can be harder to enjoy the more complete battle system due to less people that play it
PMDiscord
You guessed it; a Discord bot game based entirely around the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series! No dungeon exploring, but it has complex battles featuring terrain coverage, stat boosts, and team mechanics. Focuses exclusively on Pokemon Battles rather than collection, unlike Pokecord and Mewbot.
Upsides
Multi-player team based battles unlike most bots
PVE and PVP, even cross server PVP
Choose your pokemon instead of having to catch
A unique and balanced combat system based on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon—not many bots are based on PMD
Free and no vote-nagging unlike most Pokemon Bots! You can earn currency with a ‘novote’ mystery gift
Decent level of customization especially in sandbox mode
Downsides
A little confusing to get started in
Can be spammy—variable challenge speeds are available, but it’s best put in it’s own channel
Seems to be no legendaries or shinies, since you simply hatch what you want instead of catching
Not as commonly played as Pokecord or Mewbot
Challenges are made for multiplayer, which can be frustrating if other players aren’t online
PokeTwo
Active in >20,000 servers
PokeTwo is pretty much…literally just PokeCord again. For better or worse, if you liked Pokecord, that’s what this is. From the commands to the embeds it’s virtually identical, though the voting system seems more generous.
PokeMeow is a newer and pretty slick discord bot with lots of gameplay features that differentiate it from Pokecord. It has events, more of an economy, an auto-catching bot and lots of other unique things.
From PokeMeow’s description
Myuu
Another more fully featured discord bot, this one doesn’t make you remember commands other than .menu. It has full party teams, semi-graphical battles, regions and more.
Let’s be real here. There’s 890 Pokemon, and about as many Moves, Items and Abilities. These bots will help you keep things straight and figure out how the heck you evolve that Inkay.
Beheeyem
Easily the best quick-reference Pokedex I’ve come across, named after everyone’s least-favorite-to-spell Pokemon Beheeyem. Get quick mainline game info on Pokemon, Abilities, Items, or Moves. No extra set up or weird permissions required, great for any server with Pokemon discussions going on.
Beheeyem even has spelling suggestions, making it useful for Pokecord players trying to sneak in a sly one.
Note: Images for this article are taken from official listings for these bots on their own homepage or top.gg Discord bot listing. Descriptions in images may be out of date and were written by the bots’ creators, not me.
Upsides
Best bot I’ve seen to get a quick overview of a pokemon and a link to Bulbapedia (and Smogon and PokemonDB if you prefer)
Simple commands, all you need to remember is b.dex (pokemon) and b.help
Spelling suggestions help for for children who can’t read good
Downsides
Website seems abandoned, though Gen 8 info is being added to the bot so it’s not dead yet
Oddly narrow and specific set of commands
Professor Bellis
The least-common bot on this list, Professor Bellis is a pretty new bot that uniquely (as far as I’ve seen) has Pokemon Masters Sync Pair information. It also has a whole Pokemon Masters style game built into it too, though I actually added it to my server just to look up Sync Pairs since Beheeyem doesn’t do that.
Upsides
Info most other Pokemon bots lack
Built in Pokemon Masters minigame you don’t have to whale for
Downsides
Pretty picky syntax
For example @Professor Bellis help works instead of !help like the documentation suggests
Everyone seems to have stopped playing Pokemon Masters already
Best Pokemon GO Bots
Pokemon GO is by far the most popular Pokemon side game, and due to it’s real world nature there’s a lot of complexities that bots can help out with. Due to my limited Pokemon GO experience I haven’t used them myself, but asked experienced Pokemon GO players what they use.
None of these bots violate Pokemon GO terms of service via disallowed automation, cheating, location emulation, etc.
Meowth
If you have a larger Pokemon GO server it can be a hassle to arrange meet ups, report raids/spawns in specific areas. Meowth can help you coordinate and plan raids and more:
Pokemon Masters is out—kinda. There’s a limited soft-launch in Singapore and soon™ Canada, but eager superfans are already playing in other territories via VPNs and the usual tricks. Here you’ll find my evaluation of the game in its current, early state as I’ve completed all the content currently on offer and talked the game over with many other direly impatient Pokemon fans. My efforts to keep things simple has failed—so be ready for a fairly complete look at what the game is like today!
If you wish to play the game or just read up on how it all works in detail, I also have a Pokemon Masters guide on this here site or you can pop in our Discord server to chat about the game!
Editor’s Note: The game’s full release is upon us! The final release fixes a couple of bugs, changes gem prices slightly, adds 5 free trainers to the roster, and has a minor intro event with some similarly minor rewards. It’s nothing that really affects my judgement of the game, so I’ll be leaving the rest of the review as-is.
What Is Pokemon Masters?
Pokemon Masters is perhaps a Gachapon Mobage-style mobile game first, and a Pokemon game second. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but rather I mean that this game was clearly designed to reinforce its goal of being an accessible, stand-alone mobile title before all else. A few tried-and-true Pokemon design choices and rules have been left behind in this process—which occasionally makes things a little confusing for long-time players.
Instead of catching Pokemon, this time around you’re “scouting” for Sync Pairs; a Trainer and Pokemon pair that you actually use to battle. All battles are 3v3 in Pokemon Masters, so you can choose 3 trainers and their Pokemon . Sync Pairs aren’t like normal Pokemon ; not all unevolved Pokemon can evolve to their final form, and Types are tied more to Trainer than they are to the Pokemon; most dual type Pokemon are single type, all pokemon only have a single weakness, and resistances and immunities don’t generally exist.
Yep, it’s Gachapon
Pokemons’ Stat growth and Base Power for Moves are also freely re-balanced, moves are tied to a Sync Pair and can’t be changed. There’s no IVs (thank Arceus) or EVs, level 100 is level 100. It’s a drastic overhaul but mostly results in a smoother, simpler experience still largely recognizable as Pokemon. It also offers a balance setup more similar to the usual mobile gachapon-fests; a Treecko can be stronger than a Serperior because they say so, that’s why.
There’s no PVP (possibly a blessing due to power creep and other pay to win nonsense common to these games), but there is co-op play unlocked after beating most of the main story.
3v3? Yeah, You Know Me
Ingame battle
The best thing about the game is definitely the battle format. It’s close to a mix of Rotation and Triple Battles from the main series, but all Pokemon can be hit and target other Pokemon at once; nothing only targets “adjacent” creatures. Pokemon’s moves charge in “real time” but attacks are still cued up for an almost-turn-based battle closer to Final Fantasy’s famous ATB system.
The 3 Pokemon simultaneous match up offers strategic possibilities beyond the usual on-on-one fights, without the more time intensive complications of a full team 6 versus 6 one-at-a-time style of traditional Pokemon . And more importantly, many new “Trainer Moves” were added to the game with the 3v3 format in mind, adding many buffs that hit the whole party. Skills like this are pretty rare in the mainline games.
As a long-time Pokemon fan it does bother me just how much the AI cheats though; in the mainline games you’re always fighting “real” Pokemon that you could have on your own team right down to the moves and stats. In Pokemon Masters however, enemy Sync Pairs have extremely overpowered Sync Moves (but charge them much more slowly than you usually do) that hit the whole team and often include a Haze effect to remove your buffs. It’s something that would be fun for raid bosses, but feels excessive and cheap in regular battles. It really reduces the feeling of fair competition that’s very big in Pokemon, both in gameplay and story.
All in all I really enjoy the new format, and I really hope Pokemon Sword and Shield will offer a variation of it for play. Addition of online co-op battles to Pokemon is also very welcome. I’ve often wished I could play Battle Tree etc. in Co-op, but only local play has been offered so far, and the peak of having local friends with the latest Pokemon release was grade school for me.
Pokemon Masters is a new mobile Pokemon gashapon RPG, out now worldwide for iOS and Android! In this Pokemon Masters Guide you’ll find strategy, gameplay, and Sync Pair information, as well as common questions about the game.
Though this guide was created during the location test, I’ve confirmed nothing has changed (except IAP prices and some new units) so consider it fully up to date for launch! Feel free to ask questions or contribute information in the comments, discus the game in our Discord server, or add to our Sync Pair Spreadsheet!
You can support me and my guides monthly on Patreon (and score some rewards like cute cat pictures)! The more I earn the more time I can spend on improving guides like this. My PayPal is a thing too if you can’t do monthly subscriptions.

Pokemon Masters FAQ
Where Are Gym Leader Notes?
To get your first Gym Leader Notes, fight Hard mode of any Co-Op story mode stage, after Chapter 11. Single player will not work.
Very Hard Supercourses drop them too, but they’re vastly harder and ideally require level 90+ pokemon. Supercourses are the best way to get them after you have 1-3 pokemon Max Level Capped.
How Do I Evolve (Pokemon)?
If you’re asking, odds are you can’t. The great majority of Sync Pairs in Pokemon Masters simply do not evolve. A rare few do, including free characters Rosa and Barry, and other units in the Gachapon noted with an icon. Get your pokemon above level 35 (stage 1) or 50 (stage 2) to see if it evolves. If no Sync Story unlocks for evolution, that pokemon does not evolve, ever.
Note that Evolution Stones are very rare and consider not evolving pokemon you may never use, contrary as that may be to Pokemon instincts. Since Launch they increased the cost of evolving, making it extremely prohibitive.
Where are Red and Blue?
Not in the game yet. Blue will have a Gachapon banner starting september 4th. Red is currently MIA but will surely be added in the future, as well most famous trainers. These games always release favorites slowly to keep people interested.
How Do I Get Star Power Ups?
Star Power Ups are the items that raise a character from 3* to 5* etc. But they’re effectively not in the game at least for now. You can only get them by pulling 6+ of the same unit from the gachapon, a feat that would cost several hundred dollars bare minimum, probably over $1000 total.
Hopefully they’ll be event items eventually, they effectively do not exist at present.
How do I complete “Getting Stronger With Gear”?
Beat Chapter 18 Co-Op hard mode to unlock the gear feature, and the Very Hard stages of Co-Op.
Why Am I so Weak!
If you’re neglecting Training Courses you’re going to be extremely underleveled and behind on Move/Level Cap items. They’re your ticket to grinding. If you haven’t completed the story yet, there’s also probably multiple features you haven’t unlocked yet.
Pokemon Rumble Rush is out now! It’s a continuation of the Pokemon Rumble series, and is on Android and iOS. This is a very early work in progress guide I’ll be updating as I play, so check back often! There will be much more info soon. I’m also working on a Search Spreadsheet that you can contribute to!
As always, post in the comments if you have any questions, info to share, or just comments about the game! We’ll also likely be playing the game in our Discord Server.

Pokemon Rumble Rush Quickstart Guide
Quick Facts Video Guide
Is it Kanto Pokemon only?
Long term, no, there are Johto and Alola pokemon shown in the official site. However, the first area of the game is Kanto only and it will likely be a bit of time before later generation pokemon appear. There aren’t even all 151 Kanto pokemon yet it appears.
What’s It Play Like?
It should be familiar if you’ve played a Pokemon Rumble series game before. In basic combat your pokemon automatically moves towards pokemon, and you can tap to attack or long press to charge a stronger attack.
You catch pokemon through a special Search feature, each search stage has specific pokemon to catch, and strength of Pokemon is determined by a Pokemon GO-esque system with the single CP stat for pokemon strength. Pokemon each have a single move, randomly selected from a list of possible moves when the pokemon is caught.
Does it have Nintendo Account features?
Yes, you can use your Mii (huzzah) and Cloud Save features by linking your Nintendo Account. Linking your Nintendo Account with Pokemon Rumble Rush is permanent. For most people, this isn’t a problem, but if you have more than one account, share accounts, etc, be mindful of it.
How Can I play it?
It’s currently regionally restricted for a region-test launch. It will likely release globally soon, between a week and a month. Despite being limited for the launch, the app includes multiple languages and will auto select one based on your devices country. You can’t manually pick a language.
Android
If you’re in Australia, simply use the Google Play Store to download it. Outside of Australia, you’d have to either spoof your location (Google Play no longer allows changing Country without your IP address indicating you’ve moved countries).
There are Pokemon Rumble Rush APK links out there, but I can’t vouch for the validity of any and won’t link any here.
iOS
Oddly, it’s not out for iOS quite yet. It just launched in a test market, so the iOS version will likely be out soon, likely with the same temporary regional restriction.
It uses too much battery!
Go to the Menu, Options, Game Settings, and set the Graphics option to Power Saving. If that’s not enough, also reduce the Resolution (clarity of image) and Imaging Speed (framerate) in the More menu.
Pokecord shut down very suddenly today on 2020-05-30. It sounds like it won’t be back, sorry. This guide will be left as it was for reference/history. This guide may or may not apply to off-brand Pokecord clones like Pokecord 2.0 that many people are using.
You can support me and my guides monthly on Patreon (and score some rewards like cute cat pictures)! The more I earn the more time I can spend on improving guides like this. My PayPal is a thing too if you can’t do monthly subscriptions.
2020-05-30: Pokecord suddenly shut down. F in the chat.
2020-03-19: Pokecord bot settings were moved into p!config so I updated that section
2020-02-18: Tidied up some information, made it more clear how spawns work
2019-05-13: Found an Evolution Spreadsheet since many pokemon have non-standard evolutions in Pokecord.
2019-05-08: Thanks to @DocSigma for pointing out the undocumented p!shrink command! Added it to the list
2019-05-03: Pokecord now has a “real” pokedex and a 50 credit reward for pokemon caught after this update. Use p!collection to see the “old” pokedex. Updated the command list.
How Pokecord works is it pulls Pokemon data from Bulbapedia. Each pokemon has base stats, IVs, a Nature, Moves, and can potentially be Shiny (presumably at the standard astronomically low rate).
Pokemon can be traded and fought (1 v 1), and there’s no penalty for losing a fight and no reason not to catch or trade anything. There’s no winning or losing the game, so you can play as casually or intensely as you like.
Pokecord isn’t a perfect Pokemon clone however. Some important points to note: Pokemon do not have teams or abilities in Pokecord (right now). Your ability to earn money is limited to dueling (a pittance), voting for Pokecord daily on Discord Bots (kinda…icky), or selling pokemon on the ingame market (which is pretty weird).
Where To Play Pokecord
You can play on any Discord server that has Pokecord enabled. You can either invite the bot to your own server or join the official pokecord server (expect catching spawns to be incredibly competitive).
Spawns seem to be a combination function of time and how many messages posted, meaning a more active server means more pokemon—but also more competition to catch those pokemon. On fast, popular servers, mobile users have a pretty strong disadvantage compared to keyboard users.
Quickstart
Once the bot is in your server, pokemon will start to spawn based on time and number of posts. Type p!start to get started, then p!pick (starter name) to select a starter.
When a pokemon appears, the first to correctly p!catch it gets it. There’s no limit to how many pokemon you can get, so there’s no reason (other than politeness) to not catch a pokemon. In a server with friends, consider letting other players catch pokemon you already have (alternately, catch them and trade them to who wants them for free).
It helps to add all pokemon you’re planning to duel with to your favorites list, so you don’t have to go through the whole pokemon list every time. Pokemon are always referenced by number not name in commands, so this will help you find the numbers quickly.
Pokemon level just by chatting in a server with Pokecord active; only your active pokemon gets experience this way though, so be sure to p!select who you want to raise. Without an Everstone (in p!shop), Pokemon that can evolve via level will automatically evolve at that level with no cancel prompt.
Duels are very buggy but there is no harm in losing, so do them as much as you want. See the Duel Commands section below for pitfalls.
What’s Missing/Different In Pokecord
As far as I can tell these are the major differences/omissions from Pokecord
Teams/battles for more than 1v1 pokemon
Status/stat changing moves do not work at all
Pokemon gender, meaning some evolutions are presumably random? and some moves likely do not work
You can’t cancel evolutions manually, you must buy and hold an everstone
Held items only exist for evolving or preventing evolution
Abilities are also completely omitted
There is no breeding of pokemon
Mega Evolutions work differently and are semi-permanently activated out of battle. Use p!mega to toggle Mega Evolution state rather than having them hold the stone in battle.
Aside from selling pokemon (Team Rocket, anyone?) there’s no effective way to get money at a reasonable scale
Any pokemon can be a random spawn, including baby pokemon, legendary pokemon, starters, and evolved forms that aren’t usually available.
Recipes in Pokemon Quest are one of the most important (and initially, most confusing) aspects of the game. They’re the primary way of getting new pokemon, and without the right recipe you just can’t get some pokemon. So here I’ve compiled the basic recipes, how to make them, and some supporting info to help get you going!
The information in this guide should apply 100% to both mobile (iOS and Android) and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, though I primarily play on Mobile.
If this guide’s successful (and I keep playing the game) I’ll look into making other guides for the game. I started with just this one since I find myself always having to look it up anyway. As always, feel free to comment to ask questions or point out new info!
Basic Recipe Info
Recipes are the primary way of getting new pokemon in Pokemon Quest so it’s important to understand how they work to get what you want and avoid wasting materials.
Higher quality materials attract rarer pokemon but take more turns/expeditions to complete; early on you should focus on low-quality recipes to quickly fill out your common pokemon list and keep a steady flow of new pokemon and not worry too much about rare ingredients.
Note that higher-evolutions are never obtained through recipes, you’ll always get basic pokemon. Pokemon in Pokemon Quest appear to always evolve via level-up rather than other conditions. (Not sure about Eevee yet).

Even if you don’t necessarily want pokemon of a specific recipe, I’d recommend going down the list and completing one of each recipe as one of your first tasks ingame. This not only completes your recipe book ingame for easy reference, but you get some rewards for completing Challenges as well.
Note that some combinations meet the requirements of multiple recipes, if this is the case the result is the lowest number from the list that it satisfies (not counting Mulligan stew).
