Super Neptunia RPG Guide | Drops, Quests, & Strategy

Finally, a new Neptunia title has released; Super Neptunia RPG! This one’s halfway between a “side” game and a “main” game, having a higher budget and larger story focus than most of the side games, but still some major differences from most of the “main” games.

I’m a bit late on getting together a guide for this one (work’s been a huge pain!) so I’m putting up my framework and I’ll be improving it as I play! Major WIP. Feel free to ask questions and add information in the comments, or contribute to the freely editable Big Spreadsheet of Everything for the game.

Super Neptunia RPG Quick Tips

There’s platforming, but you get jump upgrades later on! Don’t frustrate yourself trying to make tricky (and possibly impossible!) jumps early on. If it seems like you can’t get it, you probably can’t–yet. Treasures are often best left for later if it’s not obvious how to get it.

Similarly, quests aren’t always possible the second you unlock them; be patient and progress the story if there’s not an obvious way to do it. Several quests in the first area are impossible at first. As far as I can tell (and as usual for Neptunia), there isn’t much of any missable content so don’t stress.

The maps can be slightly confusing to navigate at first, but there’s ingame maps to all the dungeons to make it easy, just press Select to see them.

The game has more elements and status effects (and resistances) than the usual Neptunia game; it’s closer to Final Fantasy 8 in that regard. Try to cover each element with at least one attack in your formation sets (once you have a full party that is).

Speaking of Final Fantasy, items have learnable Abilities like Final Fantasy 9, so keeping a wide variety of gear to slowly learn abilities will be strategically valuable.

Only Neptune is playable as your lead character. Sorry.

Press Select/equivalent to see enemies’ resistances mid-battle, you don’t have to try blindly to see what works. Speed up battles with L2, but you still have to input attack commands manually or you just get beat up really fast!

The game isn’t very hard, but save and make use of the sweet fast travel the save points offer.

Walkthrough

Majorly WIP! There will be very minor spoilers as necessary to explain what to expect or do.

Neptunia Shooter Guide – How To Play

Neptunia Shooter has released, and finally we got that Pixel Art style Neptunia game every single Neptunia ending has left us wanting! It’s currently only on Steam for $5 ($4 on sale), and it’s an adorable easy-to-get-into shmup! As always, feel free to ask questions or submit any missing information in the Comments below, or just let everyone know what you think of the game!

I made this quick little guide since, well, I make all sorts of Hyperdimension Neptunia guides, and this one’s slightly confusing to start into due to how simple it is…and the main menu being Japanese for some reason. The game just came out so expect me to tidy this up and add info as I play.

2019-05-22: Game released

Quickstart Guide

Is the main menu seriously Japanese?

This is a bug as of the latest update, should be fixed soon. The items are Start, High Scores, and Edit Controls respectively.

What is it?

Neptunia Shooter is a tiny (it’s 24MB in size!) little Shoot ‘Em Up style side game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. It’s a pretty straight-forward game as a low-price side game, and thus doesn’t presently have any alternate modes or unlocks; just one main game mode almost entirely based on skill.

Mega Miracle Force (メガミラ) Import Guide | A Real Neptunia Crossover Mobile Game!

Mega Miracle Force (メガミラ) just released in Japan! Just like Makai Wars prior (and several Neptunia games) I figured I’d do a little import guide to help other players get going! This guide is still very much work in progress so expect big updates.

Feel free to contribute any information that’s missing or ask questions in the comments, or join our Discord to discuss Mega Miracle Force, Neptunia series, or other games in general!

Mega Miracle Force is a Compile Heart universe crossover game, with Hyperdimension Neptunia characters as well as characters and enemies from many of Compile Heart’s other games. It plays much like Makai Wars as a gachapon based mini-SRPG with auto-battle and various character-enhancing systems. In a very Compile Heart quirk, you equip CG images from the various games as “equipment”.

Azur Lane: Hyperdimension Neptunia Crossover Event Guide

The English/Global version of Azur Lane is finally getting the Hyperdimension Neptunia crossover event that previously hit the Chinese and Japanese versions of the game. Since I usually do guides for Neptunia games and picked up the game just for this crossover, I figured I’d make a little guide for players in a similar situation.

Updates: 2018-11-28: It appears SP4 has the best drop rate for Nep Skin Boxes for cosmetic items

The event just released on 2018-11-22 and runs until 2018-12-05! Filled in most information. I streamed the event on the 22nd including pulls!

The Neptunia characters are viable/high rarity units (Elite and Super Rare, the top two in the game) so if you want to play with just/mostly the Neptunia games it should be pretty viable. Take my advice with a grain of salt though as I only dove in to get the Neptunia characters myself; as always corrections and questions are welcome in the comments below! Or in our Discord Server

Azur Lane Quickstart Info

Azur Lane is a fairly standard “mobage” style collection/RPG game. IF you’ve played FateGO, Fine Emblem Heroes, Food Fantasy, or hundreds of others, you probably know what you’re in for.

If you’re just starting the game/haven’t started yet, you’ll want to get to level 15 as soon as possible. This is achievable within a day or two at most with moderate play; I’m level 30 now in 3 days.

Make sure to go to Settings, Account to bind your account to a Twitter/Facebook account. This is your cloud save option; without it, you may lose your account or be unable to transfer it to a new phone.

CyberDimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online Guide

This is a guide for gameplay, progress, and trophy information in CyberDimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online! The single most important thing to know about this game is nothing is missable and there’s no need for replays! It’s the lowest-anxiety Neptunia game ever, so no need to worry about True Ending requirements, bad ends or anything annoying like that!

As always, if you have questions simply ask them in the Comments section below and I’ll answer them and update the guide. This guide is a work in progress but I’m always willing to update my guides with new info, and I’m playing the English version right now to keep it up to date.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Series Release Date Calendar

Have you ever hoped someone composed a nice table of all Hyperdimension Neptunia games and their release dates across all platforms and regions? I certainly hope so, because you’ve found exactly that and will have to deal with it either way.

Note: The United States (US) and Japanese (JP) release dates will be used as generic “Western” and “Eastern” dates respectively, their exact release in all sub-regions like Asia, EU, AU may vary by a few days. PC releases are listed as World Wide (WW) even though technically they have different (or no) release date in Japanese, oddly enough.

This guide is for release dates only, try this post if you want help understanding the Neptunia Timeline/Canon, and if you want help understanding what kind of game each is/which you should buy for what reason, I have a guide for that coming up soon.

Hyperdimension Neptunia’s Gamindustri Font

Style has a big impact on a game’s tone and perception, and one of the strongest ways a game can create that sense of style is with it’s own font. Hyperdimension Neptunia has a unique, in-universe font we’ll just call the Gamindustri Font (keep reading for a download link too!).

The font was prominently featured in the first Neptunia game and its promotional works:

Large holograms spell out
Large holograms spell out “Area C” etc in HDN1 Planeptune

The planeptune font, behind Neptune, spelling out
Is your body ready?

Localized Terms in Hyperdimension Neptunia

Welcome to the second article about Neptunia localization. In our first article we discussed about how character names have been localized and the rationale behind the changes (or lack thereof). This time we’re going to talk about different terms that have been used through the series.

Some information was obtained from this interview:
http://www.siliconera.com/2016/04/18/hyperdimension-neptunia-editor-nick-doerr-talks-localization/

The list

Neptunia ← ネプテューヌ (neptune)

In Japan the Neptunia series is just called Neptune. When NISA localized it, they were worried about potential trademark issues (this was around the time companies were being sued over the word Edge), and so the word was changed slightly into a non-existent word.
